Also, oh wow, it wasn't a whole box of brown sugar! I think one cup of each flour and brown sugar. There was a written out recipe when I made it as a kid. I'm quite certain I've eaten it at Grandma's house, too.

No, your first comment didn't post, if "Also, oh wow" was your second comment. That makes sense, I remember now when she first told me the recipe it was all ones -- one cup of flour, one cup of brown sugar, one stick of butter (half cup), one can of apple filling. It would go in a 9x9 pan, then. So the main thing to remember was at 375 for 30 minutes.
